The Vanu Sovereignty
The Planetside 2 based story below follows the life and style of a member of the Vanu Sovereignty (VS). A trooper that desires to show his stripes for the Vanu, he journeys off to help them achieve their goals on the planet Auraxis. There are multiple entries we found, and we will continue to list them here when we have them decoded. For now, the tales that follow come from the perspective of a Vanu trooper and are told directly by him. This is true since we’re actually reading his personal diary located in the wreckage. Be careful though, it’s not for the faint of heart.
First off, my name is Ikooba. I am a recently enrolled member of the Vanu Sovereignty fighting forces. If you are reading this, then I am sure I have been killed and our great Sovereignty has been defeated. These entries that follow will help you understand why I decided to make the ultimate sacrifice for the will of Vanu. I am writing to you in my personal journal that I keep with me here on the planet Auraxis.
We have a brief history that is not all important to me, but since this is probably the only piece of documentation you will come across that will not be tampered with, I will explain who we are and what we stand for. We were once members of the Terran Republic (TR) as scientists. The TR were very oppressive to us and hindered our scientific achievements. All we wanted from them was the freedom to experiment on these new technologies and make them better. Think of what we could do for the Human race! We could cure diseases before they come, we could grant longer lives, or we could make everyone a conditioned athlete. The TR wanted us to keep the technology secret, they wanted us to keep it just for them. We said “No!”
So one day, our leaders came across an idea and started making energy weapons, snagged some of the re-birthing chambers, and began recruiting other scientists to our cause. We came up with a name. This name was gathered from the extinct alien race that once lived on the planet Auraxis named the Vanu. Then we declared war on the TR and the newcomers called the New Conglomerate (NC) who thinks our experiments on the Human genome are wrong.
I enrolled to fight for the Vanu because technology is might, and we will prove it. With our re-birthing chambers, we can remake any human with the same memories, feelings, and personalities from the most minuscule amounts of DNA. We can win this fight for the Honor of the Vanu, no matter how many times I die in the process.
Tomorrow starts my training in virtual reality as I learn to wield a gun and kill in the name of Vanu. I will learn how to capture bases, drive vehicles, fly ships, and aim a gun. This VR training will show me everything I need to know, and how to combat what the enemy will show me out there. Times will be tough, but I no longer do this for me, I do this for Vanu!
Planet : Auraxis
After recently enrolling in the fighting force and completing my virtual training, I have been deployed to the Vanu Warpgate on the continent Indar. I will be handed a class and a gun, both of my choosing. Since I have focused my early training on running solo and on point, I picked the standard layout of the Light Assault Trooper. I grabbed my gun, fragmentation grenade, pistol, and strapped on my jetpack and awaited my orders from command.
I was assigned to an Outfit codenamed Rejects and put in a small squad of two members. My squad leader informed me that we would be heading out to the Allatum Bio-Lab as it was under attack by the TR. So defense is my first assignment for the Vanu. Our squad commander requisitioned a three seated gunship, called a Liberator, and flew us northeast to the objective. It was under heavy fire from both sides. There were enemy tanks and many other ground support vehicles around the objective, so we were instructed that this was going to be a hot drop. After the ship was landed on the Bio-lab’s eastern landing pad, I jumped out jetpack blazing.
Floating down to the ground level, I noticed two enemy Medics and a Heavy Assault trooper. I took those three down and kept moving trying not to draw too much attention, but also give the Liberator time to get out. Looking behind me, I noticed that I had two other Vanu on my six as we entered the capture point. There were claymore mines all over the ground and the two reinforcements took out the mines. Hearing a grenade bounce around on the ground near me, I turned and ran out of the room just in the nick of time. The two other members behind me did not make it out before grenade blew up right between the two of them. Peeking back into the room, I saw four members of the TR file into the room.
I ducked back outside the door just before I was spotted by the enemy, then hit the jetpack on and flew to the roof. In doing so, I was able to spot two TR circling around the outside of the room. I floated down behind them and took them down with my knife to keep it quiet. Peaking through the window on the other side, I noticed that the two circling around were two of the four members that entered previously. I took out one with a few shots from my carbine rifle, and when the other shot back, I threw a grenade in the room and ducked for cover. Taking a few hits to my personal shield, I did not receive any mortal damage, but the grenade was enough to clear the room out. I then saw reinforcements come in with me, and we took the capture point back.
At this time, I noticed that the TR were starting to retreat and the Bio-Lab was ours and successfully defended. As I walked back out to the transport vehicle, I noticed many dead, and the Medics going around healing them up while the Heavy Assault troopers picked off the remaining enemy. I hopped back into the transport for my trip back. While in flight, I was promoted a rank and given some certifications I could use to upgrade my gear. Arriving back at the Warpgate, I sit and await my next set of orders.
